(HARI), during the awarding ceremonies for the Top 10 Most Outstanding Corporate Citizens of Makati at the 340th Araw ng Makati (Foundation Day of Makati) Vin de Honor celebration held in Makati Shangri-La. The Top 3 automotive company in the Philippines is also this year’s Top 3 Most Outstanding Corporate Citizen of Makati. |
This 2010, success has arrived in threes for Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai automobiles in the Philippines. Just recently, HARI scored a triple victory, as it secured the Top 3 spot in overall rankings for the third time this year (based on March 2010 to May 2010 year-to-date sales performance), and on the third month, scored significant highs in 3 major industry categories, specifically overall sales, Passenger Car segment, and Light Commercial Vehicle segment. In another exceptional turn of events, the number 3 has once again become HARI’s measure of excellence, as this fast-rising distributor clinched another victory being the Top 3 Most Outstanding Corporate Citizen of Makati for 2010. This is the second time that HARI has been included in Makati’s roster of Outstanding Corporate Citizens, and from rank 6 last year, HARI moved up to Top 3 this year, affirming its presence not only as one of the country’s leading automotive companies, but also as an economic powerhouse. HARI’s newest success is attributed to its strong work ethic and compliance in terms of paying its tax obligations to the City of Makati. Based on 2009 tax records of the Office of the City Treasurer of Makati, HARI has once again been adjudged as one of the Top Ten Taxpayers in Makati, highlighting the distributor’s commitment to uphold economic stability and shore up both business and community development in Makati. The prestigious awarding ceremony for Makati’s Outstanding Corporate Citizens was held during the 340th Araw ng Makati (Foundation Day of Makati) Vin de Honor celebration last June 21 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The momentous occasion was graciously attended by esteemed executives and leaders from various business sectors, with the awards presented by no less than His Excellency, Jejomar C. Binay, Vice President-elect of the Republic of the Philippines and Outgoing Mayor of the City of Makati. The Honorable Jejomar Erwin C. Binay Jr., Mayor-elect of the City of Makati, also graced the occasion and, together with Vice President-elect Jejomar Binay, expressed to the night’s victors the Makati community’s sincerest gratitude for their continued support and confidence in the government of Makati. HARI’s President and CEO, Ms. Fe Perez-Agudo, received the award on behalf of the HARI community in the Philippines. Mr. Richard Lee, HARI Chairman Emeritus, and Mr. Gener M. Gatchalian, Executive Vice President & Chief Finance Officer / Treasurer of HARI, also lent their presence during the event, and bore witness to another proud moment in HARI’s history. A Top 3 automotive brand. A recipient of Hyundai Motor Company’s 2009 Award of Excellence. An Outstanding Corporate Citizen of Makati. Titles that truly signal a bright and exciting future for HARI, more so, the city that has become the home of Hyundai in the Philippines for nine extraordinary years. |
